El smosh assassins creed 412/14/2022 ![]() But before I close my eyes, I must know - what will become of my children? Homes!? What homes!? The sewers? The brothels? The prisons that we dragged them from? Yes, what little will there was for them to have. ![]() They won't take kindly to what you've done. You'll come to know the others soon enough. You think me some petty death-dealer, suckling at the breast of war? A strange target, don't you think? Why me, when so many others do the same? Oh, but I am! For I serve a far nobler cause than mere profit.

Sonic exe movie 202012/14/2022 Though injured, Longclaw reminds Sonic of the importance of keeping himself and his powers hidden, and uses a golden Ring to open a portal to a planet on the far side of the universe, called Earth. Her fears realized, Longclaw desperately flies away with Sonic, only for one of the echidnas to fire his arrow and successfully strike her, causing her to plummet to the ground with Sonic still clinging to her. But as he affectionately presents a sunflower to her as a gift (a gesture that touches the owl), they are ambushed by a tribe of echidna archers. Longclaw warns Sonic that he might have been noticed because of his coveted powers, but Sonic is not concerned, saying he was too fast to be seen. The toddler Sonic rushes home to the treehouse where Longclaw is resting and playfully bumps into her to wake her up. He remembers running joyously across the island every day, relishing in life and making full, open use of his natural-born powers despite being told to keep them secret by his doting guardian, Longclaw.Ī young Sonic going to Earth through a Ring by Longclaw's orders. In the middle of the chase, there is a pause as the hedgehog, named Sonic, begins to narrate what is currently happening and rewinds to the very beginning, recalling his childhood days living on a beautiful island in another world with palm trees, waterfalls, and even loop-de-loops made of soil. In San Francisco, California, a seemingly normal day is interrupted by a shocking spectacle: an anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur, white gloves and red shoes is running through the city at breathtaking speed while a flying machine piloted by a mustached scientist dressed in red gives chase and fires explosive energy blasts. ![]() A sequel, titled Sonic the Hedgehog 2, is scheduled for 8 April 2022. Lyrics tank when we12/14/2022 Subsequent tracks explore how Staples feels called back to gang life, despite his desire to distance himself from it. Staples raps about how he doesn’t trust those around him to not try and come after his money, especially those who try to posture as friends or lovers. “LAW OF AVERAGES” opens with a sample of a choir performance that begins skipping like a warped cassette tape over muffled guitar playing. He raps seemingly directly to listeners on “ARE YOU WITH THAT,” asking us if we’re willing to accept him for who he is as someone tied to street politics. Staples recounts how he’s haunted by the specter of gang violence-as he’s both grown wary of and is simultaneously drawn to it. It’s a somber atmosphere with semi-ambient and lo-fi instrumentals. ![]() However, it’s actually a complex and fully fleshed-out conceptual piece of work where Vince Staples looks inward to reflect on his traumatic past and how it informs his character today. ![]() Some might think this is a quick one-and-done affair since the album is so short. Vince Staples– Blacksmith Recordings/Motown – Tim Hoffman Few lines are as simple and impactful at the same time as “You make me wanna cry… in a good way.” Funny enough, there’s a high chance this line might also encapsulate the exact feeling you get when listening to this album. The mark of a great songwriter, Webster doesn’t have to spell it all out to be understood. It’s near impossible not to succumb to the charm of the impeccable arrangements, the soft glow of the production and Webster’s omnipresent invisible smirk. Throughout, Webster mixes irony and sincerity with an uncanny ability to draw lines between and across the two. Overflowing with personality, the album has already wowed most of the lucky listeners who crossed its path–including Barack Obama, who included “Better Distractions” on his Summer ’21 playlist. I Know I’m Funny Haha – Secretly Canadian – Red Dziriįaye Webster consolidates her coveted spot in the indie folk/alt-country scene with I Know I’m Funny Haha. For those willing to hear what Steen has to say, the clanging and screeching will soon take on a rough beauty of their own. It gives the songs’ search for beauty and connection amid the drudgery of city life a vividness that the band’s musical forbears didn’t always achieve. Smith or Jon King-grounds Drunk Tank Pink’s clanging, screeching riffs and rapid-fire drumming. His low, throaty bellow-which is closer to Henry Rollins than to Mark E. ![]() One key to the power of shame’s music is the howling gutter-punk mentioned above, frontman Charlie Steen. However, listeners whose ears have already attuned to the likes of Wire, Gang of Four and The Fall can proceed directly to the latest LP by those bands’ unkempt nephews. Those seeking something closer to conventional songcraft should start with the London post-punkers 2018 debut, Songs of Praise, whose anthemic tunes and ringing guitar hooks are more immediately accessible. It’s true, shame’s sophomore album won’t be to all tastes. Rather get clipped by a double-decker bus. Forty-one minutes of some British gutter-punk howling about urban alienation while guitar, bass and drums do their best to imitate a steel mill or a migraine? No thank you very much. On paper, Drunk Tank Pink might seem unbearable to some people. ![]() Little Oblivions features bass and drums, banjos and synthesizers, and of course, guitar, resulting in her lyrics and singing at times being absorbed in the passion.ĭrunk Tank Pink – Dead Oceans – Ben Schultz Where before her voice would glide sweetly alongside her acoustic guitar-picking, the new songs clash and bang, build and swell. But unlike the previous work, Baker’s newest explores a much louder, sonically wider style, proving to be an outstanding product of both her musical and personal growth.įrom start to finish, the album is loud compared to the quiet and restrained sound of her previous work. Since her 2015 debut, Sprained Ankle, the vices, addiction and sexuality of Julien Baker have featured heavily into her work and are ever apparent on her new album, Little Oblivions. Cobra pack 201212/14/2022 That’s what sold all of us now old farts on this stuff. But the line needs the kiddos in order to be a hit. If you’re fine with a few dregs of Toys R Us packs here and there, that’s fine. Without proper buy-in from the young ‘uns, GI Joe isn’t getting anywhere near the top of the boys toys heap. ![]() Some folks didn’t dig the ninja/Rock centered packaging for the film’s toys, but I thought it was a fresh approach to go straight for the kid market. I didn’t mind much, and in retrospect, this figure seems downright super-poseable compared to current Hasbro offerings like Star Wars. The Retaliation line cut a few corners with articulation, and Cobra Commander came without ankle joints. At this point in Joe history, we had been spoiled by improvements in poseability as well as fit and finish. I can’t go without mentioning articulation. For me, these two elements combine for a more memorable figure than the Rise of Cobra line produced. Here, it’s the helmet, web gear and even the jodhpurs that say “maniacal leader,” not to mention the missile-firing snake head staff. There’s always been a grandiose quality to CC’s outfits that I’ve enjoyed. First, the bold design of the Commander that sets him apart from both his troops and the Joes. Cobra Commander was the first Real American Hero figure of my youth, and he’s always had a special place within my memories of what made 80s Joe a joy.Ī few elements are at work here to make me smile. But I’m not going to rag on it, because it’s a dang cool toy. ![]() Cobra Commander bears little resemblance to the character’s appearance in the Retaliation film, aside from some similarity to the helmet design.

All night beyoncé12/13/2022 ![]() ![]() The blanket was becoming less scratchy, now. Softly shaking his head, he reached out and gently grasped your hand, rubbing his thumb along the back of it. “Oh, sweetheart,” he whispered. You turned your head to face him and his heart clenched at the glistening tears, both in your eyes and streaming in trails of silver down your cheeks. He shut the door quietly behind him and walked in, dragging a chair over to your bed and lowering himself to sit in it. So you’d rolled onto your back and, with a croaky voice you hated thinking was yours, told him to come in. He’d been there to comfort you when it’d happened – to hold you in his arms and stroke his hand along your hair – and he’d been there when you’d realised there was something growing in you. You felt like an outlaw in your own body.īut Tommy… when Tommy came knocking on your door, you couldn’t decide whether you wished to send him away or tell him to come in. The stuffed bear you’d had since you were a baby felt like an invader. Your blankets were scratchy, now, when they’d once been warm and inviting. That barn… that barn still standing, the mess gone but still there all the same. The raging streets of Birmingham prattling along outside as though nothing was wrong. Anywhere but here, in your small bed, murky walls around you that had once felt like home. And when Isaiah had come, knocking lightly on your door, you’d told him to go away, and away he’d gone. Summary: Tommy stays with you after a hard day.Ī/N: A sort-of sequel to Away It Goes.

Paint the town red meaning12/13/2022 ![]() The day was hot, and my new acquaintance, as he expressed it, ‘a thirsty crittur ’ so each hotel we passed on our pilgrimage called forth the same observation, ‘I guess I shall go in and paint.’ Three times we ‘ painted’ accordingly. This particular use of paint is first recorded in Digby Grand: An Autobiography (London, 1853), by the Scottish novelist and poet George John Whyte-Melville (1821-78) the narrator has just met Squire Sauley, “ a real Yankee character”: ![]() The original allusion may also have been reinforced by the use of the verb paint in the sense of to drink. “Because red is the color of blood-fire-lightning-red-hot times, eh? ![]() ![]() If you should come in here to clean out Detroit, or if you were going on a high spree, or if you intended to raise an excitement, you would slant your hat over your left ear, spit over your right shoulder, and announce in a loud voice that you were going to paint the town red.” “My innocent friend,” replied the citizen, “the term does not refer exactly to paint and brushes. Do they paint the buildings, or sidewalks, or what? I don’t see any red around Detroit to speak of. “Almost every paper I pick up has something in it about somebody painting the town red. This allusion to festive lights illuminating a town was perhaps reinforced by the connotations of energy and excitement attached to the colour red, as exemplified by the beginning of Painting it Red, published in The Wheeling Daily intelligencer (Wheeling, West Virginia) of 8 th September 1884:Ī citizen who was waiting at the corner of Jefferson avenue and Wayne street yesterday was accosted by a man about 27 years old, who said he wanted a little information. 15.-The Democrats of Crockett County had a splendid procession, cannonade and painted the town red with fireworks, and shouted themselves hoarse. – On 16 th November 1884, The Daily American (Nashville, Tennessee) reported:īells, Tenn., Nov. The large crowd in waiting became hilarious, and it was proposed to “paint the town red” by means of a torchlight procession. – On 5 th November 1884, the Hawaiian Gazette (Honolulu, Hawaii) reported that, after the announcement of the result of the local vote for U.S. The two following passages support this hypothesis: My hypothesis is that the phrase originated in the image of a torchlit procession or/and of a firework display that illuminate(s) a town. Mountain Dew, my boy, is the liquid representative of a fiery furnace it is the elixir of a West Virginia Legislator’s life he would rather do without his dinner than his Mountain Dew, and whenever he wants to paint the town red or paralyze things by making a flowery speech, he gets gloriously full of Mountain Dew.ĭo these men paint the town red and make flowery speeches very often? Well, slightly its about the liveliest creature you ever saw when it is invited to take a little Mountain Dew. This, my boy, is a West Virginia Legislator. The second-earliest occurrence of the phrase that I have found from Legislative Primer, a satirical dialogue published in The Weekly Register (Point Pleasant, West Virginia) of 18 th January 1882: James Crockett, who has only been out of the county jail a short while, was likewise complimented for “ painting the town red,” and he is also visiting out of the city. Tommy Price, an ex-convict, left Owenton because the boys about town took him to the woods and flogged him. The earliest instance that I have found is from one of the unconnected paragraphs making up the column The Commonwealth, in The Courier-Journal (Louisville, Kentucky) of 3 rd November 1881: Of American-English origin, the colloquial phrase to paint the town red means to enjoy oneself flamboyantly, to go on a boisterous or exuberant spree.

Rufus jones12/13/2022 ![]() We expect and hope that eventually students as well as faculty and administrators will play an important role developing the Society on Campus. ![]() We look forward to working with all stakeholders in the Haverford community to promote conscious leadership and service and to bring Fords together from different generations in fellowship.Īs we launch the Society, we are prioritizing building up a critical mass of alumnae before figuring out how best to support current students. The Society is officially launching in 2018 and is currently in pilot stage. The mission of the Rufus Jones Society is to ensure that this infrastructure is built so that Rufus Jones’s fierce spirit for social progress and joyful self-mastery remains central to what it means to be a part of the Haverford College community. We believe that an effective approach to keeping the ethos of Rufus Jones alive and well at Haverford will requires a permanent institutional structure and should aim to build fellowship among generations of alumni interested in leadership and service. We believe that every Haverford student should learn about Rufus Jones and that an ongoing engagement with his legacy can inspire both an evolution of ideas and a building of community that can serve to meet future challenges. The Rufus Jones Society is comprised of members of the Haverford community devoted to creating a space of inquiry, reflection, and action to support and develop continuing leadership education for the 21rst century. Rufus Jones was a strong believer in the intelligence and agency of students and we want this trust reflected in the Rufus Jones Society, which seeks to create a more robust and meaningful relationship between students and alumni working towards social change. We also hope to create a group that is horizontally integrated across alumni but also vertically integrated to include students. We seek to build a diverse and inclusive community of Fords committed to leadership development and the ethos of Rufus Jones, with representation across every demographic. We believe that an effective approach to keeping the ethos of Rufus Jones alive and well at Haverford requires a permanent institutional structure and should aim to build fellowship among generations of alumni interested in leadership and service. We believe that every Haverford student should learn about Rufus Jones and that an ongoing engagement with his legacy can inspire an evolution of ideas to meet humanity’s future challenges. The Rufus Jones Society wants to explore how the leadership principles of Rufus Jones – which include a focus on mindfullness/self mastery, a reverence for truth, and an inclusive ethos that treats the dignity of conscience of every individual as inviolate – can form a more comprehensive and integral part of the Haverford experience, helping students to connect with the power within themselves to live a life of consequence. It is the intersection of these three areas that builds the foundation of character that is both essential for a life of consequence and the very purpose of a Haverford education. What is so powerful about Rufus Jones’s model of leadership is the intentional connection between critical inquiry, purposeful action, and spritual/social/emotional grounding. The vital life force that Rufus Jones brought to Haverford is more needed than ever in a world defined by accelerating change, social dislocation, and increasing instability. His leadership ethos, grounded in a joyful spirituality and optimistic approach to problem solving, serves as a powerful example that can and should inform how leadership and character are taught and nurtured at Haverford College. We are committed to ensuring that his vision of the innate dignity and equality of all people and his leadership lessons in support of this goal become an integral part of the Haverford experience for students, faculty, alumni, and community members.Īs a teacher, scholar, theoretician of modern Quakerism, and founder of the American Friends Service Committee, Rufus Jones presents a remarkable model of a life well-lived. ![]() ![]() Jones’s life and thought represents a distinct perspective on leadership and service that is of critical importance for Haverford College and the world.

Sonic 4 episode 2 3ds rom12/12/2022 ![]() ![]() These range from making the duo fly, rolling up together into a big ball of death and even include the ability for Tails to use his namesake as a propeller underwater. This teamwork element introduced by Tail’s flying has been capitalised upon in Episode 2, with a dedicated button for activating team manoeuvres. Tails is as you remembered him from your childhood, complete with limited flying abilities and the nifty ability to carry Sonic along as well for a short amount of time. You may have guessed then that the biggest new inclusion is that of Sonic’s partner and cohort, Miles Tails Prower. Sadly, none of these alterations serve to remedy the problems with the first Sonic 4 episode, with many of the gameplay tweaks adding their own host of issues rather than fixing them.Įpisode 2 brings back the classic 2D Sonic gameplay of old, but it features several inclusions that make it more like a re-tread of Sonic 2 than any other titles in the series. With a large gap between the two episodes, Sonic 4 Episode 2 feels more like a full sequel than an episodic add-on, with a large list of additions and changes. Cue the expected hype around Sonic’s glorious return to the second dimension of old but, as you can read in our review, the first part of Sonic 4 wasn’t exactly the return to form that fans were hoping for. Having spent what feels like forever trying to dominate the 3D platformer, Sonic Team have finally noticed that they weren’t fooling anyone, and have since returned to the 2D realm with the help of co-developer Dimps.
